Get There By Bike - Interactive Bike Maps for the Urban Commuter App Reviews

I was looking for the Google "bike there" routes on my phone. I found them with this app, which fits me well (--> 3 stars). However, the app sometimes crashes, and it takes some time to get used to it since it is not very user-friendly. For example the "tweet" and "upgrade" buttons are really annoying on a daily basis, and you have to save all your usual places before really using the app efficiently. Id still prefer just a simple "bike there" 100% Google app, but this one does the trick when Google didnt add it yet to its "Maps" app.

I tried the app yesterday in SF and it sent me to a tunnel for cars ... Not bike friendly at all :-/

You cant find directions till u put points on the map. But when u type in an address it says "Pleae be more specific." So it cant recognize addresses or spell? Only good thing is that it had the potential for people to submit big hill points on Map. But no one had.

Wow!! I have my location services turned on and after using the locate me button, the app centers itself on Portland. Gees, only 1200 KMs off from my actual location. I would trust this app since it has terrible accuracy. FAIL!! Is there a -10 rating here somewhere? There should be.

This is the worst app ever! I live in Canada we use the metric system as does all of Europe and most of the world, I need to know how many kilometers to get somewhere not how many miles. Plus the app almost doubled the distance to my destination since it doesnt seem to know there are cycle/pedestrian bridges in my city. I would give this zero stars if I could.

I was amazed that it could spot me anywhere without wi-fi! (I own an Ipod touch4). Very useful! I would like a step by step map though, instead of written directions on a different screen...

I dont know why everyone gives it such a bad rating. Its easy to use and gives great directions. Also it can almost find my exact current location on the itouch 4th gen. It could have a few more features but its a free app so im fine with it.

But should show bike routes and lanes on the map. Otherwise the directions has a line through the middle of nowhere and it is impossible to consider alternate routes.

Living in a city known for its biking culture, I have found this app to be pretty handy. When I contacted the developer and made a suggestion, he responded with a useful email within a few days. Keep up the great work!

In the description it does not say that the app is not worldwide. I am in Italy and no European country is available. If an app is not for everybody the description must include detailed information. I cancel the app.

Really helpful app - shows color-coded bike lanes and routes, and maps out great directions (that you can save!) along bike-friendly paths.

This app is just Google Maps, but with no route alternatives. Downloaded this to get alternate routes and safety information. It literally gave me the main route Google gave me and nothing else. Doesnt recognize my destination, which is a university. Terrible app. Avoid.

Dont let this app rob you use google maps for Free its better than this app.

Works well, picks out nice paths. I bought the OC map, it shows me bike paths that I didnt know about. Only one gripe so far, seems it can only plan for trips using current location as the starting point.

It seems as if you dont get to view the bike paths in this app unless you pay for it. You can only enter a destination and take the apps suggestion as to the best route.

Very useful in a not so bike friendly town!!! And reliable! Unlike so many other apps :)

With my layers previously there, now are not even in the list of available areas, after I paid for them. Rip-off!

Thats all this app ever says. Deleting now.

Rarely shows best route. Even when I know best route, rerouting is cumbersome to impossible. Always drops pins instead of just changing route. When pins dropped, directions say "destination". End up with a destination for every pin.
